Simple but good.

This dish was very simple and basic. It is great if you enjoy cooked pasta without a sauce. Which is why my husband really enjoyed it. I, on the other hand, would have preferred it with a light sauce. But either way it was good and I will be making it again sometime.

(And any ideas of a sauce to put on this would be greatly appreciated)

Pasta with Broccoli
(Source: Amber's Delectable Delights )

Ingredients:
1-2 heads broccoli, cut into florets
1 tbls olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz short cut pasta
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tsp Penzey's Pasta sprinkle (or Italian seasoning)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes to taste

Directions:
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch the broccoli for about 5 minutes. Drain, and set aside. Bring the water back up to a boil and add in the pasta. Cool until al dente. Drain and put in serving bowl.

Meanwhile, in another skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat, add garlic and saute until light golden in color. Add broccoli to skillet and stir occasionally, for about 10 minutes.

Toss the broccoli with the pasta and season with salt, pepper, pasta sprinkle, and red pepper flakes. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over top and serve.

I've made something similar to this. But I added chicken too. And I used butter. Oink oink :)

I like the noodles you used, they are pretty!

Nice.. I do make it this way but with a little variation..
Instead of adding chilli flakes and garlic I add chilli garlic sauce and a lot more veggies n shrimps or chicken and when almost done add fresh pesto sauce(basil n olive oil)
