Simply sauce

I had been craving spaghetti for the longest time. Tonight I finally decided to make it. Since I forgot to take ground beef out of the freezer this morning we had meatless spaghetti but usually I would start by browning a pound of ground beef and then following the instructions below.

For spaghetti sauce I do not really follow a recipe I just throw stuff together and taste as I go. So this is my best guess as to actual ingredient measurements.

Simple Spaghetti Sauce
(Source: Amber's Delectable Delights )

1 (28oz) can crushed tomatoes (pureed in food processor)
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
6 cloves garlic (minced)
1.5 tsp Italian seasoning
1.5 tsp garlic powder
1.5 tsp onion powder
Salt and Pepper to taste
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Pinch of sugar
Dash of red pepper flakes

- Saute garlic in olive oil. Add in tomato paste and cook for a few minutes to brown. Add in the pureed crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and the rest of the seasoning ingredients. Simmer 30 minutes or until ready to serve.

This sounds like a great basic recipe. I've never made my own sauce, but I've really been wanting to try. Now I can play around with it - thanks!!
