When life hands you bagels

Make french bagels. I am not quite sure how I came up with the idea to make french toast out of bagels but I am glad I did. I do not know why but french toast just tastes better when it is made out of a bagel.

French Bagels
(Source: Amber's Delectable Delights)

2 Bagels (sliced in half)
2 eggs
1 tbls milk
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp salt

Beat the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt together. Coat the bagels in the egg mixture and place in preheated buttered pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side.
(I like to smash the bagels down with a spatula as they are cooking so they get a little bit crispy on both sides).

What a fun idea! I LOVE bagels... this would probably be good with the different fruity bagels too. Great idea! :)

What an excellent idea! I've never thought of this and I LOVE french toast. I bet it's even better with bagels. I'll be trying this the next time I have some leftover bagels.

Hey I know where you came up with the idea for these. When we were younger and wanted French Toast.... we couldn't make it because there was no bread in the house... so we used whatever we could, even bagels. I'm suprised we didn't make French Tortilla's too!
